Make it a ‘Chair Affair’ with Hotel Meyrick

Do you love anything that has a story? Love the idea of taking a piece of furniture and giving it a second life? Up-cyling is the act of using an item which is no longer in use to be re-used and re-loved, often becoming more practical, valuable and beautiful than what it previously was! With over 161 years of history embedded within its walls, the Hotel Meyrick could certainly tell some stories! With this in mind the hotel is offering a ‘Chair Affair’ an Up-cyling workshop, in conjunction with The Gaiety Antique & Vintage Store, on Saturday 8th February, giving people the chance to create their own stories!

Guests will depart the hotel with a delicious lunch to take to the Gaiety Antique & Vintage Store for an afternoon (10.30am–2.30pm) of fun and creativity, giving a once loved chair a complete makeover! Take one vintage chair; add a dash of Annie Sloan Chalk paint, a swish of gorgeous fabric and tah-dah!  You have created your very own unique piece of furniture and learned the skills to paint and wax basic upholstery in the process! Participants will be provided with the chair, paint, fabric and the tea!
