The Gaslight presented the 2nd in its Masterclass Series - with a focus on Whiskey
The Gaslight Brasserie celebrated the world of Premium Whiskey on Thursday March 2nd as they hosted a Sold Out Whiskey Masterclass from 19.30 that evening.
Galway’s favourite City Centre destination showcaseed 3 World Class Premium whiskeys, from the Jameson Makers Series on the night. Guests who attended the Masterclass savoured “Coopers Croze”, “Blenders Dog” and “Distillers Safe”- as they learned each unique history and how best to serve.
The Gaslight team were delighted to welcome Gerard Garland who hosted this event. Ger a dedicated Irish Whiskey Ambassador with the Jameson Makers Series; has over 16 years’ experience in the Drinks Industry. He will cover the origins of our national spirit, its History and how it is produced. He covered Cereal, Brewing, Distillation, and Maturation of each of the Jameson Makers Series- all while taking guests present through a Tasting of each!
Following the Masterclass, each guest received a complimentary Whiskey from the Jameson Makers Series, served with a selection of Finger food – the perfect way to kick start the weekend vibe.

In September, Galway’s favourite City Centre destination joined forces with “Gins of the World”, to showcase 3 World Class gins on the night. Guests who attended the sold out “Gin Masterclass” savoured Premium Gins- Shortcross, Gin Sul and GinRaw, as they learned each unique story and how best to serve.
The Butcher Counter in June which introduced a pop-up butcher block concept with a range of luscious meats, all sourced from local farms and showcasing the Angus, Hereford, and Dexter breeds. Our Head chef happily assisted guests to select their preferred cut and deftly prepared it for cooking – from farm to fork for their pleasure. Whether they yearned for a tender fillet or juicy ribeye, each guest was assured of mouth-wateringly intense flavours …a carnivore’s dream.
In April, the Gaslight Brasserie joined forces with independent artisan chocolatier, Hazel Mountain Chocolates, to create a chocolate inspired three-course tasting menu. From elegant chocolate infused vinaigrette drizzled onto delicate greens to rich and devilishly tempting main courses the Easter Supper Club was an instant hit.
In March, the Gaslight proved it was a cut above the rest with it’s ‘Butcher & The Brewer’ event serving a three course deliciously lush and meaty menu paired with award winning Galway Hooker beers. Combining the best of local independent artisan brewing with the finest high quality ingredients, the evening was brimming with flavours of gorgeous Irish meats alongside hops and toasted barley.
During each Supper Club, the bar team are always on hand to advise on the perfect wine or craft beer to pair with your meal. The casual atmosphere of the Gaslight Brasserie combined with personal service provides the perfect setting in which to savour a special meal in great company. Sit at a table overlooking Eyre Square, or bag a seat at the bar counter with a bird’s eye view of the cocktail making ensuring a fun night out.
